I envy anyone who has access to an "old school" type gym.
Everything in the City here is completely corporate; a place for business men and women to do a little cardio and drop $150 per hour on a "personal trainer" who doesn't even look like he works out!
Real estate values have outpriced the market. There's no way a decent Mom & Pop gym can afford the square footage needed to maintain a good gym, without charging exhorbitant rates.
Miss the good old days.

I would KILL to open a good gym, too bad the price per SF plus the price of AC is more than memberships cover...more people would rather pay memberships to go to LA Fitness than a hard core gym....
