That's what my wife said. We can't afford for both of us to go, which will be a first, she goes to all my shows. I'm wanting to go out there a few weeks at least, earlier than the show to train. I want to do the New Zealand show the next day after the Australian Pro, but we'll see. Traveling and time off is just at a premium these days. If I had a sponsor I'd be fine, but working a full time job, then training, dieting, etc just keeps me from being at my best. I'll still do all I can for the show, but it's gonna be rough dieting over X-mas!!!

Rusty, I wish you the best of luck in Australia
I've followed your bodybuilding career off and on for about 10 years. You answer, so long as their reasonable, questions from your fans in a friendly and direct way; you're upfront about the crap levels and political nature of the sport and still you keeping plugging away. You bring something to this sport that been missing for years: professionalism.
I stopped closely following the sport when syntherol hit and the phrase "Mass Monsters" become popular. I can still remember seeing photos of a bodybuilder by the name of Jean Fux with this huge gut and thinking: "That's disgusting, enough all ready". Remember the phrase from the Seventies "Mass with Class?" That's what you bring to the sport; mass balanced with an eye on proportion.
The best to you and Franci over the holidays; I hope your dreams come true in New Zealand and Australia.
Two Questions: Is the IconMen DVD worth picking up; I'm not buying it if they diddled you out of your payment or you think the dvd is crap. Can donations be made at your website towards the cost of getting you to Australia?
Thanks,
TonyB

Tony,
YES YOU CAN DONATE!!!! I AM VERY SHORT ON TRAVEL FUNDS AND SINCE I DON'T HAVE A SPONSOR, A DONATION WOULD BE VERY VERY APPRECIATED!!! I should have a "donation" button in the store on this site, if it's gone again, (someone hacked in) I will get it back on there, THANK YOU FOR YOURS AND ANY OTHERS who would like to donate. 85% of the money I make on this site, DVD's etc go to my competition fund and it comes up a bit short, but to travel to AU is really expensive. This will be the first show Francy doesn't go on because of that, but Lee Priest is letting me stay with him, which will help quite a bit!!
ICON is total waste of time, they wouldn't let me do my own workout and they were so worried about getting closeups that they missed the best stuff they could have had. It's a total WASTE of your money, wait for mine, it's in the works at the processer guys now, it's all my favorite routines on one DVD, LOTS of routines, not just what a pros routine that most guys won't and can't do...those are good for entertainment purposes, but mine is for education and really showing you what and how to do exercises correctly and in what order, etc. ..
I know what you mean about the synthol generation with those gross growth guts. I felt like giving up around that time too, funny you should mention it. I get VERY disheartened but I feel that if any of the judges ever feel like placing people where they should as opposed to where they're told, I might get in there. Thanks for your words, they are VERY welcome and VERY much appreciated. I'm glad someone out there still "gets it" and I know lots of people do by the emails I get on that subject. It can't keep going on this way, guys are gonna start dropping.

You're coming out with a workout dvd?!
That's frickin' awesome! Anything on there I can use in conjunction with the boxing lessons/boxing conditioning workouts I'm taking?
I'm saving my dough to use for the upcoming dvd; thanks for the heads up about the Icon crap.
Later,
Tony

Rusty,
What will you charge for the DVD? I would send you a pre-pay for it now. I don't have much expendable cash, but if you want to take pre-orders let me know what the cost will be.

Not sure, it will depend on a couple of things, it may be a double DVD set.

Rusty, At the 2007 IFBB Sacramento Grand Prix you wore a pair of blue posers that worked well with your skin tone. They gave your tan a gold cast that was flattering to you; made the whites of your eyes look clear and bright. They're in these photos at Bodybuilding.com: contest.bodybuilding.com/gallery/contest/1500/contestant/180/mode/jim/I've never been able to figure out why some competitors make themselves the color of August Desert roadkill. Think about packing them for Australia. That's my two cents worth. TonyB P.S. Did Nu-Parr make those for you or were they custom?

You know..I'm not sure where I got those..I've had them for a long time, worn them twice,,I usually like black, which I have with black sequiny like things on them, and a black pair with red shiny things on them which I've worn a couple of times too. Actually I was thinking of putting them on eBay because I get tons of emails for them!!! hey, ya never know...

Rusty,
Sell'em! Make sure you announce it at your yahoo group; give it a big buildup....it should clock you up some serious dough.
Bill Pearl used to have a pair that was the exact color of his skintone; they didn't create break his line from his shoulders down. It seems like some custom vendor could create trunks in colors that blend in with the tan.
On the other hand, trunks are one of the ways competitors have so standing out from one another. One things for sure, it sucks when competitions use those sparkly glitter curtains as a back drop for the competitors...they always look like prom night.
I don't want em but if you sell the trunks it'll generate some real cash towards Australia.

Here are some words about Rusty in Australia from Francy in Rusty's Yahoo! Group:"Hi everybody! Francy reporting in for Rusty...Rusty is indeed in Australia! He and Lee Priest trained legs today and he was still shaking 3 hours later...He raised just enough to live on for 3 weeks in Australia, thank you everybody, with the market doing as badly as it is, we couldn't have sent him there (without help) to train for 2 weeks before the show/acclimate to the time zone..it's 8 pm here Tuesday, he just called, it's 2 pm there on Wednesday!! WEIRD, HUH??? He is having a great time, it's humid and he says it's beautiful where he's staying and he's enjoying his time with Lee and his wife. He's staying away from computers and any form of responsibility like a REAL vacation! Except for the fun food and relaxation...he asked me to let you all know he will post tons of photos and his adventures when he gets back. I will make him post LOTS of photos!"
