This is an Olympia qualifier; top 5 finishers qualify. Here is a tentative list of competitors. What do you think??
* King Kamali * Darrem Charles * Vince Taylor * Branch Warren * Dennis Wolf * Dennis James * Melvin Anthony * Pavol Jablonicky * Ahmad Haidar * Jason Arntz * Carmichael Bryan * David Dearth * Heinz Senior * Emro Karaduzovic * Brian Chamberlain * Andy DiNetta * Joel Stubbs * Craig Richardson * Kevin English * Fahkri Mubarak * Desmond Miller * David Henry * John Hodgson
Branch, Melvin, David H and both Dennises will make it very competitive, and there are some other very solid competitors as well. Should be a super show!

yeah this show has a lot of interesting story lines, how will melvin look after the surgery? Can David H get back to the old david or is his conditioning going to be off again like it was in the frist few shows? I am anxious to see Desmond Miller stand onstage with other pros, I bet he places very well maybe top 5. Would also like to see Ahmad do well, he is another VERY underated bodybuilder. Finally what is king going to look like. Needless to say I am anxious to watch this show.

Well, we can cross Jason Arntz off the list. And how bout David Derth? Been while for him. Stubbs, bring his legs up and he could cause problems for people.

I doubt stubbs ever brings his legs up to match that back, we need to find another word to call that thing he says is a back. one of the freakiest body parts ever in bodybuilding. Not sure why he doesn't take a year off and devote to his legs, he won't ever place til they come up.

I had to check my eyes when I saw David Dearth's name. I wonder if he'll give Aaron Baker a call and get him to make a come back. I can't believe the comeback Vince Taylor has made...and Gary Strydom....I guess it is never too late.. that is encouraging for sure!

Dearth is a shock to me as well. Will be interesting to see if he actually competes.
Agree about Stubbs. Legs would make him a major threat in these shows.

Sorry, Mike. Been meaning to get in touch. Been crazed. Will be back on OSBB soon as I can get under from work.
Yes, Rusty and Lance were in the overall over 40 posedown at the 04 Masters. Rusty won the pro card and I was happy for him. Hope it is Lance's turn this year. Now top 2 in overall over 40 earn pro status, so his chances are hopefully better. Lance looks better than ever at 46 and it would be a dream come true for him.

David Dearth??!!! ? I honestly can't say I have even heard of some of these guys, but I will comment on one thing...if a PRO has to bring up a bodypart that isn't in sync with the rest of him...how did he turn pro? I read that comment in magazines, hear it all the time...It just pisses me off when someone can actually place or win a pro show that doesn't have it all together.. Then when you have a nuts load of really good pros....they put an amateur bodybuilder with a fitness girl all throughout magazines. The world as I see it....

Great post, Rusty. There are some dubious pros out there, for sure. Would not expect to see Dearth on that stage.

Yeah I agree Rusty if a pro nees to bring up a body part there is a problem but some of these smaller countries don't have a choice, I am pretty sure thats how Stubbs got his pro card, just lack of competition. I also agree with you on amat. in magazines, its just some of them are more marketable, people like chad martin may be better marketing tools then some of the pros. Its all about the $$$.

Ever see a non sponsored pro in the top money?? I've learned quite a bit since turning pro...sponsors pick who they want, and they sure seem to place well whether they're in great shape or not...there's a few that I just can't believe are actually placing compared to the "after top 5 or 10's who aren't placed...I'm still shaking my head....at least I say what I see...

Just finished watching the show online. My vote for first would have gone to Dennis Wolfe.
