7 weeks out? HOw much cardio are you doing? You're gonna need to get on the cardio at least 1 hour per day. How many calories are you taking in per day, how much protein, carbs etc?

yeah i am 7 weeks out, i am doing 45 min, first thing in the morning. I am taking in around 1800 cal, all of which are fat and protein. been 0 carbs now for 3 weeks. The pics aren't that good, I am in better shape than they show and improving every day since we kicked in the fat burners . I am working with the same guy that helped me with my first show and I trust him 100%. I am going to have a guy who takes pictures professionally take a few and I will post those, it will give you a better idea of my condition.

Good job M. I feel the same bout my pics. But, that could just be wishful thinking on my part! I do need to work on the lighting aspect. The light is coming from directly in front, and we can not get the flash turned off on the digital camera, so I looked smoother then I think I really look. But for camparison pics it should still show differences. You have to trust your prep guy 100%.

ok guys, you have to not do the zero carb thing....it's good to do it to get the initial water off and see where your body is, but think of carbs as putting fuel on a fire..you will burn fat by taking in small amounts of carbs STRATEGICALLY. Target load no more than 40 gms immediately after a workout, a main workout, like legs, not abs...somethign clean like rice or a potato is good. Make sure you take in some protein with this carb after training...your body needs it right THEN. This allows your body to do what it needs to do which is replenish, burn fat and keep its size. YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON ZERO CARBS!!!!!
Everybody needs to try the zero carb thing to see how it doesn't work over extended periods of time...I've judges tons of shows where I can see the difference and I can tell you who did it for their show. Yes, it shows.
As for your pics, take them approx 10 a.m. same place, same time, outside. each week. Post them on the wall at home with the diet and cardio directly beneath. Then each week you post the next weeks photos next to it...You can see immediately what's working and what's not. Very easy to do, just do it!!

Just wondering what you have to say to Toney Freeman finally getting over the hump and winning the amount of shows he has won AFTER he started working with Dave Palumbo and using his diet. Plus Evan Centopani looking awesome at nationals using Daves 0 carb diet. I admit its not for everyone to but state
"Everybody needs to try the zero carb thing to see how it doesn't work over extended periods of time...I've judges tons of shows where I can see the difference and I can tell you who did it for their show. Yes, it shows."
might be an overstatement. Its working for a lot of people today and seems to be working for me, I am really happy with the results from my first show and the results up to this point.

Very true on the not for everyone. I think this is the best program for myself, especially being my first time with contest prep. If I was allowed carbs, I think I would find myself eating too many.

Dude, Rusty is giving you his opinion to help you, and not put you down. Take it or leave it. Why come to his website if you don't like what you hear? Saying, "Just wondering what you have to say about Toney Freeman blah blah blah..." is not cool. I think it's great that it's working for you, and whoever else uses it.

I am not bashing him at all, I am not a troll and the last person who will bash someone at rusty level. I really want to know why he thinks tony freeman has done so well along with some of these young guys coming up and doing well if he doesn't believe in the diet. He states "I've judges tons of shows where I can see the difference and I can tell you who did it for their show. Yes, it shows." So if he can tell a difference then why are all of these doing well. Maybe he will come on here one day and explain. Again not being a jerk but I would love for him to talk about it a little more instead of just making one comment and thats it.

Thanks for explaining Bro. There are many diets out there, and not all work for everybody. Some do well on traditional low fat/ low carb diets. Some don't, and it's the same with the zero carb diet. I personally prefer high fat diets. I will have high/low carb days then go zero carbs until my body goes into keotosis then I will kick the carbs in ect... I try to manipulate the nutrient intake to continue the fat burning process. Genetics, blood counts, stress factors, drugs, supplements, immune system, and training ect... will dictate the outcome of the body in conjunction to the applied diet. Remember the late "Dan Duchaine", and his "body opus diet"? I had a friend do it, and got ripped to the bone on it, yet another friend do it, and he just lost muscle. Different strokes for different folks. I wish you the best in your upcoming show, and I'm sure you will do well. In the end it's really about blood + guts!

Good response Crom. Yeah, I think Mbell just did not like the generalized statement made about the no carb diet. Same applies for people bulking. Some can bring in lots of carbs and fats and gain good size, while others do same and gain "fat" size. And I am sure Rusty has seen cometitors on stage that looked emaciated who did the no carb way. At the same time though, I am sure he has seen some that did the no carb and looked great. But it was the emaciated ones who came and asked what they could have done diff and told Rusty(judges) they did no carb, while the ones that looked good and maybe won did not mention their diet strategy. So far I am totally behind Daves ideas and plans with me. Sorry, Mbell didn't mean to hijack your thread!
